True: Ethan

Ethan is a shapeshifter whose life force is rooted in the ability to love. When he is cast aside by his mate of six years, he has one cycle of the moon to find a new one. If he does, he is reborn. If he doesn't...

He dies.

Brendan isn't going to let him die.

Coming soon from Loose Id!

The Details:

(From the 2006 edition, which was titled "True.")

At its heart, 'True' is an erotic love story - brilliantly written - with characters that are memorable and immensely enjoyable. Rowan is truly a romantic at heart, and it is obvious in this story. I was sad to see it end, and I hope Rowan fans will not need to wait long for another of his fantastic narratives!

--John Smith

True is a tremendously powerful story packed into only 17 pages. I cannot wait for further entries and I sincerely hope that sometime in the future Rowan McBride will collect many Tales of the Novahn into one anthology; I certainly will be one of that collection's initial readers, as I count myself already a true Novahn aficionado.

Author's Ramblings:

I'm a fan of elevator kisses. I wrote one for Ace and Spade in One Good Hand, and had a lot of fun with it. Something about being in a small space with a sexy man, about wanting the ride to last forever but knowing it can't, about how those doors could open at any number of floors before you reach your destination. It's a stolen moment, charged with emotion and heavy breathing.

Yeah, I'm definitely a fan of elevator kisses.

Brendan and Ethan have one in True. Ethan's dying, Brendan knows it, and that makes every moment they can steal all the more important. Which begs the question—

What's it like to die of a broken heart?

I think everyone has at least some idea. When a relationship ends, so many emotions weigh you down. You don't want to eat, you can't sleep, you can hardly believe the sun will rise tomorrow.

That's the mess Ethan finds himself in. Only he's really dying.

So we have one heartbroken Novahn, one human who desperately wants to be his mate, and one lunar month to make it all right.

Oh, and don't forget one great kiss in the elevator.

This page is still a work in progress. Planning on more. Not quite sure what.
So check in, because it might be brilliant. Or not. But fun, at the very least.
